So, haven’t updated for a while.  Now, granted it was mostly because of the class I was taking soaking up what little free time I have, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to step back from the drawing and concentrate on the writing.  I just don’t have the time to personally develop the drawing skills necessary to meet my own expectations.

As such!  I am in the market for a comic artist.  So, if you know anyone looking for a project, have them email me via steve@thegeeksdomain.com and I’ll gladly reply.  I’ve got a few little things that I’ll ask them to draw so that we can make sure we’re on the same page and all that, but I’m a generally nice guy (stop snickering and rolling your eyes!), so don’t be afraid to email!

I’m putting TGD on a short leave of absence while doing this class and also so I can work on a format that’s more doable for my skill-level at the moment.

On the other hand, I’m going to start updating Negative Zen again starting Sunday, so look for that!

Well, tone is kinda like color…

It’s really obvious I haven’t been drawing much lately. Look at this foolishness.

The comic making goes well, expect update as promised on the 31st (Friday).

In order to allow me to work on some writing projects (along with the class, and along with the comic), I’m going to a modified VGCats schedule.

Normal strip for Friday 8/23. Full-color, longer strips once a week on Fridays starting next week.

I got a call from work that there’s a big power outage, and while I’m not on call, a not-my-boss person asked if I could come in earlier tomorrow and help out with the aftermath.   So, no comic Monday morning.  I’ll see if I can’t get something up for Tues, but the podcast is Monday night, so at the latest it’ll be Wednesday.

Just a little note, I’m going to be taking a class in a couple weeks that last 8 weeks, so starting this week I’m shifting to M-W-F for a month or so.

I figure this will also be a good time to get some practice in with other drawing things (a lot of my time is taken up drawing the comic itself, so I don’t have time to really concentrate on improving one particular thing, or to try drawing other peoples’ styles, or learning new programs).  I think that ideally, eventually, I’d like to do everything in Illustrator, but I think that’s a ways off.

Spent 3 hours trying to find who a lost dog belonged to on Sunday so things got kinda messed around a bit schedule-wise.  Back to normal on Tuesday.
